The BK Precision HVL Series 6 kW programmable DC electronic loads are designed for testing high-voltage and high-current DC power sources in laboratory, development, and ATE environments. The series includes models with operating voltages up to 1000 V and delivers high power density in a compact 5U chassis.

The instruments support constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV), constant resistance (CR), and constant power (CW) operating modes, as well as continuous, pulse, and transient operation for simulating dynamic load conditions. Transient functionality enables fast switching between two load levels with transient speeds up to 10 kHz in CC mode.

The HVL Series features advanced list mode programming with up to 100 programmable steps and supports sequence repetition, trigger functions, and synchronization with external instruments. Load sequences can be configured directly from the front panel or remotely using the included operating software and data logging tools.

For higher power applications, up to ten identical units can be connected in parallel to increase total sink capability up to 60 kW for the 6 kW models. The series is optimized for testing DC-DC converters, batteries, battery chargers, photovoltaic systems, and other high-performance DC power sources.

Standard USB, LAN, RS232, and GPIB interfaces with SCPI support enable easy integration into automated test systems. Additional features include USB host data logging, external analog control and monitoring, remote sense capability, battery test software support, and LabVIEW drivers.
