Their extremely high accuracy and fast load recovery times make R&S®NGU source measure units (SMU) perfect for challenging applications, such as:
- battery and power consumption tests
- supplying wireless devices with power
- simulation of voltage drops
A special ammeter design is used to precisely measure current drains from nA to A in one pass – no need to make multiple measurement sweeps. The short recovery times enable the instruments to handle fast load changes when mobile communications devices switch from sleep mode to transmit mode. Every detail is detected down to 2 μs resolution with high speed data acquisition. R&S®NGU source measure units have two- or four-quadrant architecture to function both as a source and a sink.
