The DS Instruments MX6000PRO is a wideband microwave mixer with an integrated and programmable local oscillator. It supports both up- and down-conversion within the RF range of 1.7–8 GHz and an IF range of 1–2500 MHz.
The integrated local oscillator covers 1.7–7.0 GHz with a frequency step size of 2 Hz, enabling fine frequency resolution. Phase noise is specified at < 98 dBc at 6 GHz and 10 kHz offset. An internal 10 MHz TCXO reference (280 ppb) is included, along with an external 10 MHz reference input via MCX connector.
The mixer features a typical conversion loss below 8 dB, typical IP3 of 10–15 dBm, and an input P1dB of +3 dBm. Typical LO-to-RF isolation is 25–30 dB and LO-to-IF isolation is > 20 dB. LO harmonic level is specified at < –35 dBc.
The unit includes 50 Ω gold-plated SMA ports, adjustable LO power, USB Type-C power input, Ethernet connectivity, and an industry-standard Virtual COM Port. An OLED display on the front panel shows frequency and status information.
