The Hioki PW4001 is a portable 4-channel power analyzer designed for high-precision measurements in both laboratory and field environments. It combines a compact form factor with a basic accuracy of ±0.04% and a wide frequency bandwidth from DC to 600 kHz, making it suitable for the analysis of modern power conversion systems.

The analyzer supports direct voltage measurement up to 1500 V DC (CAT II), enabling use in high-voltage applications such as photovoltaic inverters and electric drive systems. With its CAN interface, voltage data can be acquired externally, allowing power calculations without direct voltage probing. This is particularly useful in test environments where direct access to measurement points is limited, such as fully assembled electric vehicles.

The fixed 4-channel architecture is well suited for efficiency testing of single-stage converters, where DC input and AC output can be measured simultaneously. When used with Hioki current sensors, the system provides automatic communication and phase shift correction with high resolution, ensuring accurate results even at high frequencies.

The PW4001 can be powered via an external DC supply, making it suitable for mobile and on-site testing where AC power is not available. Its internal 16 GB memory enables long-term data logging without the need for external storage devices. The instrument is designed for demanding environments, with an operating temperature range from -20 °C to +50 °C and vibration resistance for field use.

For system integration, the analyzer offers LAN connectivity with support for SCPI, Modbus/TCP, and XCP-on-Ethernet protocols. An integrated HTTP server allows browser-based control without additional software, while optional analog output enables real-time signal and parameter monitoring.

In addition to numerical measurement results, the PW4001 provides waveform visualization and transient analysis capabilities. Optional motor analysis functions enable evaluation of motor performance based on torque and speed. This makes the instrument suitable for development, validation, and troubleshooting of modern power electronics and energy systems.
