- Product Description
The Hioki IR5051-90 is a complete measurement package combining the IR5051 high voltage insulation tester with the included Z3210 Bluetooth adapter. The instrument enables insulation testing of photovoltaic systems even during power generation and combines this with standard high voltage insulation measurement up to 5 kV and 10 TΩ.
For PV applications, the instrument features a dedicated measurement section specifically designed for insulation testing of PV strings up to 2000 V. Measurements can be performed during daytime operation without shutting down the system. Each measurement is completed in approximately 4 seconds, making it particularly efficient when testing large installations with many measurement points.
The instrument is designed for field use in PV installations and other high-voltage environments. The included hard case provides IP65 protection against dust and water. After measurement, the test object is automatically discharged. Shielded test leads and the guard function reduce interference and ensure stable measurement results.
In addition to PV testing, the IR5051-90 can be used for insulation testing of cables, motors and transformers. The instrument also provides diagnostic functions such as Polarization Index (PI), Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR) and Dielectric Discharge (DD) for evaluation of insulation condition over time. Step Voltage and Ramp tests allow insulation behavior to be analyzed under increasing test voltage to identify weak points.
With the included Z3210 adapter, measurement data can be transferred wirelessly via Bluetooth to a mobile device for documentation and further analysis using the GENNECT Cross app. Measurement data can also be stored in the instrument for later export. For PC-based documentation, the DT4900-01 communication package is available with an optically isolated interface.
The IR5051-90 is designed and manufactured in Japan at HIOKI’s own production facilities.
