- Product Description
The Hioki IR4059 is a compact, battery-powered insulation tester designed for installation, service and maintenance of electrical systems. It provides five test voltages from 50 V to 1000 V and measures insulation resistance up to 4000 MΩ. The instrument is used for testing electrical installations, motors, machinery and control systems.
The digital display is complemented by a bar graph that provides immediate visual indication of insulation resistance during measurement. The integrated PASS/FAIL comparator evaluates results in approximately 0.3 seconds with both audible and visual indication. In case of a FAIL result, the display backlight turns red. Threshold values can be set individually for each range and are retained in the instrument.
Protective conductor testing is performed with a 200 mA test current in accordance with EN 61557-4, enabling detection of increased contact resistance, poor connections and oxidized terminals. The instrument also includes AC and DC voltage measurement up to 600 V to verify that the test object is not live before insulation testing.
The IR4059 is rated CAT III 600 V and has been tested for a 1 m drop. It is designed for operation in temperatures from –25 °C to +65 °C. The backlit display supports work in distribution boards and low-light environments. The test lead features an integrated remote switch and LED illumination, allowing measurements to be started directly from the probe. With the optional Z3210 adapter, measurement data can be transferred via Bluetooth to the GENNECT Cross app.
