The Fluke FEV500 is an analyzer designed for testing, troubleshooting and validating DC fast charging stations for electric vehicles. It combines safety, performance and communication testing in a single unit and can be used without an electric vehicle being present.
The built-in EV simulation replicates a real charging session and can apply a load of up to 2 kW to the charging station. This allows charging functionality and communication to be verified without external load equipment or a connected vehicle. The FEV500 supports CCS charging status verification as well as PLC and SLAC testing.
For electrical safety testing, the FEV500 provides insulation resistance and continuity measurements, Insulation Monitoring Device (IMD) testing and residual voltage measurement. Test sequences can be performed automatically with clear pass/fail results, reducing the need for multiple separate instruments and test lead reconfiguration.
Test results are automatically stored in the instrument and can be transferred via USB-C to Fluke TruTest for further analysis, documentation and reporting. The FEV500 is battery-powered and designed for field use, with up to 10 hours of battery life and an IP54 rating with the lid closed.
