The N35100 series is a range of programmable bidirectional DC power supplies that combine the functionality of a power source and an electronic load in a single instrument. With dual-quadrant operation, the units can both source and sink power, enabling energy regeneration back to the grid while reducing overall power consumption and heat dissipation in test systems.

The bidirectional capability allows seamless switching between source and load operation without voltage or current overshoot, ensuring stable and repeatable test conditions. This makes the series well suited for applications such as battery testing, energy storage systems, DC/DC converters, inverters, and electric drive systems.

Multiple operating modes are supported, including constant voltage (CV), constant current (CC), constant power (CP), and constant resistance (CR), providing flexibility for both development and validation of power electronics. Adjustable voltage and current slew rates allow controlled test sequences and protection of sensitive devices under test.

The series features a compact 1U design with high power density and a wide operating range, enabling a single unit to cover multiple voltage and current levels within its rated power. This reduces the need for multiple power supplies in laboratory and automated test environments.

For advanced testing, the instruments can be configured with battery simulation and photovoltaic simulation functions, enabling realistic testing of applications such as energy storage systems, electric vehicles, and PV systems.

Standard communication interfaces include LAN, RS232, RS485, and CAN, with support for SCPI and Modbus protocols, simplifying integration into automated test systems.
